(16) Is not the cup of blessing for which we give praise a communion with the blood of Christ? And is not the bread which we break a communion with the body of Christ? (17) Since there is one loaf of bread, we, who are many, are one body; because we all partake of that one bread. (18) Consider the nation of Israel. (20) No! But what I am telling you is that the sacrifices of the Gentiles are being offered to demons, not to God; and I do not want you to have communion with demons. (21) You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and also the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the table of the Lord, and also of the table of demons. (22) Or are we trying to provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?
