Press on in Your Christian Life – Numbers 10:11-36

10 (11) On the twentieth day of the second month of the second year, the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle of the Testimony. (12) Then the children of Israel set out from the wilderness of Sinai and traveled from place to place until the cloud came to rest in the wilderness of Paran. (13) So they set out on their journey at the command of Jehovah through Moses. (14) The standard of the camp of the people of Judah set out first by their divisions; Nahshon the son of Amminadab was in command over their divisions. (15) Nethanel the son of Zuar was in command over the divisions of the tribe of Issachar. (16) Eliab the son of Helon was in command over the divisions of the tribe of Zebulon. (17) Then the tabernacle was taken down, and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, who carried the tabernacle, set out. (18) Next the standard of the camp of Reuben set out by their divisions; Elizur the son of Shedeur was in command over their divisions. (19) Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai was in command over the divisions of the tribe of Simeon. (20) Eliasaph the son of Deuel was in command over the divisions of the tribe of Gad. (21) Then the Kohathites set forward, carrying the holy furnishing; the other priests would set up the tabernacle in preparation for their arrival. (22) Next the standard of the camp of the people of Ephraim set forward by their divisions; Elishama the son of Ammihud was in command over their divisions. (23) Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur was in command over the divisions of the tribe of Manasseh. (24) Abidan the son of Gideoni was in command over the divisions of the tribe of Benjamin. (25) Finally, the standard of the camp of Dan, which was the rearguard of all the units, set out by their divisions; Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai was in command over their divisions. (26) Pagiel the son of Ochran was in command over the divisions of the tribe of Asher. (27) Ahira the son of Enan was in command over the divisions of the tribe of Naphtali. (28) This was the marching order for the divisions of the children of Israel as they set out on their journey.

(29) Now Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, We are traveling to the country of which Jehovah has said, I will give it to you. Come with us and we will treat you well; for Jehovah has promised good things for Israel. (30) He replied, I will not go; rather, I will return to my own land and to my own people. (31) But Moses said, Please do not leave us. You know where we should camp in the wilderness, and you will be our eyes. (32) If you come with us, we will do to you whatever good Jehovah does to us. (33) So they set out from the mountain of Jehovah and traveled for three days. The ark of the covenant of Jehovah went ahead of them during the three-day journey to find a resting place for them. (34) But the cloud of Jehovah was over them by day when they set out from their camp. (35) Whenever the ark set out, Moses said, Rise up, O Jehovah, and cause your enemies to be scattered! Cause those who hate you to flee from your presence! (36) Whenever it came to rest, he said, Return, O Jehovah, to the countless thousands of Israel.
