John 2:23-3:13 Reading the Passage

You Must Be Born Again – John 2:23-3:13

2 (23) Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many people believed on his name, having seen the signs which he did. (24) But Jesus did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all men. (25) He did not need anyone to testify about a man; for he himself knew what was in the man.

3 Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. (2) This man came to Jesus at night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God; for no one can do these signs that you are doing, unless God is with him. (3) Jesus replied to him by saying, I tell you the truth, Unless a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (4) Nicodemus asked him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? (5) Jesus answered, I tell you the truth, Unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God! (6) That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (7) Do not be amazed because I tell you, You must be born again. (8) The wind blows wherever it pleases, you hear the sound of it, but do not know from where it came or where it is going; the same is true with regard to everyone who is born by the Spirit. (9) Nicodemus asked him, How can these things be? (10) Jesus responded by asking him, You are the teacher of Israel, yet you do not understand these things? (11) I tell you the truth, We speak of things that we know, and give testimony concerning things that we have seen; but you do not receive our testimony. (12) If I have spoken to you about earthly things, but you do not believe, how can you believe if I speak to you about heavenly things? (13) No one has ascended into heaven, except the one who descended out of heaven, namely, the Son of man, who is in heaven.
