John 13:36-38; 18:15-18,25-27 Reading the Passage

How to Successfully Combat Temptation – John 13:36-38; 18:15-18,25-27

13 (36) Simon Peter said to him, Lord, where are you going? Jesus answered, Where I am going, you cannot follow now; but you will follow later. (37) Peter asked, Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you. (38) Jesus replied, Will you lay down your life for me? I tell you the truth, Before the rooster crows, you will have denied me three times.

18 (15) Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple. Because that disciple was known by the high priest, he was able to go with Jesus into the high priest’s courtyard; (16) but Peter stood outside by the door. So that other disciple, who was known by the high priest, came out and spoke to the maid who kept watch at the door and brought Peter into the courtyard. (17) The maid who kept watch at the door said to Peter, Are you also one of this man’s disciples? He replied, I am not. (18) It was cold; and the servants and officers were standing around a fire they had made to keep warm. Peter also was standing with them, warming himself…(25) As Simon Peter stood by the fire warming himself, they asked him, Are you also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not. (26) One of the high priest’s servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, said, Did I not see you in the grove with him? (27) Peter denied it again. And at that moment a rooster began to crow.
