Stand Up for Jesus! – John 19:38-42

19 (38) After these things, Joseph of Arimathaea, a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate for permission to take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave him permission. Therefore he came and took away his body. (39) Nicodemus, the man who first visited Jesus at night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. (40) So they took the body of Jesus and wrapped it, with the spices, in strips of linen cloth, in accordance with the Jewish burial custom. (41) Now near the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden was a new tomb in which no one had ever been laid. (42) Because it was the Jewish day of Preparation, and since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there.
